When you are camping without plugging into power, water & sewer, you are dry camping or boondocking,
When you are camping and plug into a friend or relative’s house for power and or water, you are Moochdocking.
This video is about 29 minutes long. It gives you a very good and detailed understanding of the best ways to use the available resources when Boondocking at a friend’s or relative’s home.
Campgrounds charge for every night of your stay withthem. Usually in a range of $20 to $100 per night. Weekly rates, if offered, can be les. Boondocking has it’s perks becaus it IS 100% less expensive than campground camping. Well almost! You see it depends where you’r boondocking as to whether or not there is a cost. Like Federal Lands, State Pakrs, etc may have a small fee for camping of any kind. However there is a resource calle Boondockers Welcome that welcomes you to stay as thousands opf private locations for FREE. Usually from 1 to 3 nights, so no long stuff here. In addition, for a small yearly fee, you can stay at thosands of Wineries, Farms, Mini-Breweries through Harvet Hosts.
